There is growing recognition and action to promote the balanced and meaningful participation of women and men in global security and disarmament processes. Through my position, I will actively support efforts to promote greater diversity of perspectives, equal participation of women and men and give room to innovate. I will also endeavor to bridge the gaps between disarmament policy and emerging fields such as in science and technology.
Maintain gender balance in my Branch tapping into both short- and long term measures, including the creation of a more conducive work environment, coaching arrangements and work-life balance for women, parents or other situations that require new work methodologies; producing an aggregate of results in the implementation of this goal.
Identify the existence of a gender component in our programmes; devise gender sensitive language for inclusion in official documents of meetings, upon the approval of States, as necessary, and ensure work plan balance among staff in the Branch, regardless of their gender.
