On the occasion of the Paris Generation Equality Forum (GEF), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), in partnership with the French National Assembly and Senate, will be holding a side event on the theme Parliaments Act for Equal. The event will take place virtually on Friday 2 July 2021, from 10:40 to 11:25 CEST.

Two Vienna-based International Gender Champions, H.E. Ambassador Alejandro Solano Ortiz, Permanent Representative of Costa Rica to the International Organizations in Vienna and Executive Director Elena Sokova of the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation will come together with members of the CTBT Youth Group, Ms Naledi Daka, Mr Sahil Shah, and Ms Mingqi Xie to discuss effective ways for meaningful youth involvement in the current world agenda.

Webinar on Trade and Gender to discuss the barriers women face when engaging in trade and how policymakers can address them. The event will showcase the Global Trade and Gender Arrangement (GTAGA) concluded by Canada, Chile and New Zealand in August 2020 that aims to “increase women’s participation in trade as part of broader efforts to improve gender equality and women’s economic empowerment”.
